I’ve been digging through old pictures, and I came across these of some of our yearlings in the winter of 1999. Yes, I was one of those ranch girls who named her calves.
Stubby.
The red baldy's name was Sampson. The odd looking blue heeler was Pepper.
The gray brockle face is Sylvester - he was my older sister's steer calf.
The girl. I'm just a ranch girl from Iowa who moved west to the border country of Idaho and Washington. I have the foothills to the Rockies in my backyard and the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse out my front window. With cattle surrounding me and a pair of boots on my feet, you're looking at one happy redheaded cowgirl. The photography. I started shooting pictures on my mom's Kodak 35mm film point and shoot.
