Ever seen a *really* big paint horse?

I went hunting for strays this weekend. It was cold, and the search was fruitless. But it’s always fun to ride Patches because he’s oh-so-darn smart. And he’s huge! It’s like climbing aboard a locomotive. For all his hugeness though, he has a great attitude and could really become some horse.

Patches, a paint horse

The only horse I've been on that's bigger than Patches was a draft horse. I know I have short legs, but my stirrups don't even reach past his belly!

Here's a better shot of where my stirrup hits him.

This photo goes on my list of favorites. Love his intelligent eyes 🙂
